Nämlich? Wo ist jetzt der Unterschied, ob ich das verlinkte Update runterlade und nicht per Softwareaktualisierung? Ich mach's ja - ich wüsste einfach nur gerne, ob das die ganzen Probleme verursacht hat, und wenn ja warum.

hast du mal mit shift in den safe mode gestartet, damit auch die caches neu aufgebaut werden?
könnte eventuell sein, dass da im kext cache noch andere versionen sind als in dem update...

Ja, mit shift im safemode hab ich schon ausprobiert, da stürzt er auch ab. und die logdatei hatte ich hier schon gepostet. Das ist die Minute nach dem Update und vor dem Absturz.

das ist auch keine panic, das ist ein normaler crash report von mds aka spotlight...
 
Was anderes findet sich da leider nicht. Wie gesagt - ich habe das System aus TM auf den Zustand vor dem Update wieder hergestellt (siehe oben).

Ich würde ja gerne die Logfile aus der Konsole hier posten, die ich gestern zwischen zwei Crashs schnell auf USB exportiert habe. Aber beim Hochladen kommt immer die Meldung "ungültige Datei".

Nee. Haben wir schon alles durch.

Hab jetzt das Backup mit CCC gemacht, damit sollte ja die externe HD bootfähig sein. Steht jedenfalls da dass sie es ist. Dann werde ich das Update über den Link probieren, den BoeserDrache oben gepostet hat. Das kann ich aber erst morgen machen, da der Computer heute abend funktionsfähig gebraucht wird und ich bis dahin keine Zeit hab, schlimmstenfalls wieder das gesamte System herstellen zu müssen.

Ich wüsste auch nach wie vor gerne, warum das Update über den Link gut sein soll und das über die Softwareaktualisierung schlecht, und warum letzteres angeblich oder möglicherweise die Hardware beschädigt und ersteres nicht. Weisst du das?
 
Der Unterschied ist der, das du mit dem automatischen Backup Probleme hast und mit diesem vielleicht nicht? Tut nicht weh das zu probieren, dein Backup ist bootfähig und du kannst somit auch arbeiten. Kannst auch gern das Update auf das Backup spielen, ist vollkommen gleich.
 
Soll ich denn jetzt trotzdem SnowLeo nochmal separat auf die externe HD installieren? Jetzt im Moment läuft alles ja einwandfrei.

Ob nun das Problem in der Hard- oder der Software liegt: Fakt ist, dass offenbar in der jetzigen Version irgend ein Fehler im System steckt, der durch das Update erst zum Vorschein kommt. Ich möchte einfach nur wissen, wo der steckt und wie man ihn wegkriegt.
 
Das Problem wird sich nicht lösen wenn du keinen der Lösungsansätze ausprobierst. Es wurde alles geschrieben was erstmal zu testen wäre und wie das zu bewerkstelligen ist.
 
Ich habe jetzt folgendes probiert:

System von der externen HD gebootet. Dann versucht, das update auf dem Rechner zu installieren. Das macht er nicht, es kommt die Meldung: Update kann nicht auf der Festplatte installiert werden. Er bietet als Möglichkeit nur die externe HD an. Das habe ich nicht gemacht, ist mir zu riskant, weil da alle Backups drauf sind.

Umgekehrt macht er es übrigens auch nicht - normaler Systemstart und Combo-Update auf der externen HD akzeptiert er ebenfalls nicht.

Habe dann SnowLeo nochmal auf dem Rechner von DVD installiert, dann das Update. Ergebnis: Wieder Systemcrash gleich beim Hochfahren.

Ich werde jetzt nochmal eine (andere) externe HD bootfähig machen und das update auf der installieren.
 
Du hast Snow Leopard installiert und GLEICH danach das Update ohne irgendwelche Einstellungen oder Programme zu importieren? Also ein nacktes System mit vorheriger Formatierung?

Tut mir leid, dann KANN es nur an der Hardware liegen, da führt kein Weg daran vorbei. Software hast du ja schon erfolgreich ausgeschlossen damit.
 
Moment, ich weiss nicht ob er die HD vorher formatiert hat. Ich habe beim Starten c gedrückt, dann hat er von der DVD aus das Installationsprogramm gestartet. Das war gestern abend. Danach habe ich heute frh das Update installiert.
 
Naja damit hast du nur das System neu installiert aber ohne deine Daten zu löschen. Das ist gelinde gesagt nicht sehr produktiv. Du musst die Platte vorher im Festplattendienstprogramm von DVD neu partitionieren.

Das gehen wir danach an. Im Endeffekt wird es darauf hinauslaufen erstmal manuell Programme und Userordner wieder reinzukopieren. Damit schließt du diverse Treiber und Kernel Extensions schon mal aus. Wie zb Cisco VPN Kram, der verursacht ganz gern mal Kernelpanics. Aber bitte probier erst mal aus ob das System auch "nackt" läuft.
