Monitor resolution 5120x1440 does not work with Mac mini 2018
Summary: For the new model series of 49" monitors with a 32:9 aspect ratio, their native resolution 5120x1440 is not supported by Mac mini 2018 using macOS. However, on the same machine with Windows on Bootcamp it works like a charm.
Steps to Reproduce: Just connect a DELL U4919DW or a Philips US496501 monitor to the mini. Both, HDMI and DP over USB-C do not come up with the native resolution
Expected Results: Monitor should show its native resolution 5120x1440 in macOS
Actual Results: Monitor shows a 3840x1080 resolution, which the monitor scales up to 5120x1440. The only chance to get the monitor's full resolution is to connect it with two cables and use the monitor's internal "Picture by picture" function - where two 2560x1440 monitors are emulated.
Version/Build: mac Mini 2018 (i5, 6 cores, 3GHz, 16GB, Intel UHD 630) macOS 14.4 latest build (published stable build, not beta) with monitor type DELL U4919DW or a Philips US496501
Configuration: DELL U4919DW or Philips US496501 (32:9 monitors with a native resolution of 5120x1440). No other configuration required.
