Great News: Our upgrades are compatible with Mac OS 10.5 (Leopard). Here are the steps for Leopard installation for all our 47A upgrades and any 55 upgrades using our GigaMeter software:
1) Make note of your original DIP switch setting, and then set the processor speed to the 10x setting: 1-On,2-Off, 3-On, 4-Off, 5-On (If you have a six position DIP switch, position 6 should always be OFF) This is the best a default setting, because it is above the Leopard requirement of 867MHz, and yet is recognized by Apple System Profiler without the use of our GigaMeter kernel extension in all the Power Mac models we support.
2) Format your new HDD or partition
3) Install Leopard on this new HDD or partition
4) Install the GigaMeter kernel extension to allow proper speed reporting (If you do not have your GigaMeter installation disc, you may download the software from our website's support page)
5) Set the Giga Designs board back to it's original speed
