iMac wird ausgebremst – und ich frage mich: Wodurch?

Habe ich gemacht. Da ich keine Anhaltspunkte habe, wo Abweichungen zu korrekten Richt- oder Vergleichswerten zu sehen sind, kann ich nur so beurteilen:
Es gibt keine Fehler, alles steht auf 100% OK. Sowohl bei der internen als auch bei der externen Festplatte.

Sorry, ich habe versucht, den Tipps und Ratschlägen Stück für Stück zu folgen, da ist Etre Check in den Hintergrund getreten.
Keine Major Issues, nur Minor.

Aha, ich arbeite also auf Murks-Basis. Na dann warte ich mal, was noch so zusammenkommt und schaue, was ich tun kann.
Bis auf die Freezes ab und zu läuft der iMac eigentlich ziemlich gut, flüssig und zuverlässig. Ich habe meist Parallels mit Win10 und Office 365 neben Photoshop und Indesign auf, dazu Mail.app, Telegram und noch ein paar kleinere Sachen, die ich alle parallel zum Arbeiten brauche. Ab und zu noch Premiere und Illustrator. Wie gesagt, bis auf die Freezes ab und zu bin ich zufrieden. :teeth:
 
Ja, ein aktuelles System auf einem Fusion Drive oder gar einer reinen HDD ist Murks. Fast jeden Tag kommen hier Leute an, deren iMacs langsam und träge erscheinen. Und einfach so oft liegt es an den elendigen drehenden Festplatten. Und ja, oft wird das belächelt. Auch ich wollte das nicht glauben. Aber du wirst deinen Augen nicht trauen, was eine reine SSD aus deinem Rechner macht. Schau dich mal ein bisschen im Forum um. ;)

Es bleibt dir natürlich unbenommen dir weitere Meinungen einzuholen. Bin mal gespannt. ;)

Ob ein Fusiondrive Grütze ist oder nicht hat nicht mit dem Problem des Thread Starters zu tun.
 
Ich kann auch nur zu einer SSD raten. Hier verdient sich ein 2008 Mac Pro 3,1, 8 x 2,8 GHz 32 GB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 4 GB und mit Dos Dudes High Sierra Patch (10.13.6) auf 2TB SSD Samsung QVO das Gnadenbrot. Bald ist Schluss! Mit der dem vorher zusammengebasteltem Fusion Drive gab es immer mal wieder Hänger, die dann von der o.g. SSD abgelöst wurde.

Ich habe den Verdacht, dass manchmal das Timing am SATA-Bus nicht passt und dass der Bus dann zu macht und nach einem (internen?) Reset (?) dann wieder in Time ist ... Ist aber auch nur eine Vermutung.

Dieses "Freezing" hatte ich auch schon mal an einem PPC G4 MDD der über einen IDE-Sata-Adapter als "Spielhobby" etwas "aufgehübscht" wurde. Der Vodoo mit EtreCheck, dem Smart-Monitoring etc ... auch alles gelaufen. Es gab nicht die eine singuläre Ursache ...

Ich weiß, hilft nicht viel, aber du bist nicht alleine ... ;) Warte auf einen würdigen Nachfolger ...

Das Programm ist extra so gemacht, dass eben keine persönlichen Daten im Report vorkommen.

Das System ist relativ voll, aber auch nix wo ich jetzt die Hände über dem Kopf zusammenschlagen würde...

Ich würde auch zu einer SSD Raten.

z.b. eine Samsung 980 Pro in einem Sintech Adapter.
Da liegt du bei ca. 200 Euro für einen Terrabyte Speicher (+ Einbau - was beim iMac kompliziert sein kann - ich habe es noch nie gemacht)
Das ist so das Schnellste was man aktuell einbauen kann.

Die Interne HDD Baust du aus oder ersetzt sie (wenn das gerät eh auf ist) durch eine Billige 1-2TB Sata SSD.
Samsung 870 QVO 2TB: ~160 Euro

Dann Kannst du wieder ein Fusion Drive erstellen oder die Laufwerke getrennt nutzen.

Ich weiß allerdings gar nicht ob es bei deinem mac nachteile gibt wenn man die Originale SSD ausbaut - bei einigen Geräten gehen dann updates nicht sauber durch...
-> Die Originale SSD solltest du auf jeden fall behalten.
