Isses doch immer noch.... :)

Lieber Ezekeel, wollte mich für deine Hörbuch Empfehlung bedanken.
Flake habe ich völlig anders eingeschätzt, wenn man Rammstein so auf der Bühne sieht bzw. ihre Musik hört!
Genau das was nie gedacht jätte.

Elvis Presley singing Take Me Home, Precious Lord. Written by the Rev. Thomas A. Dorsey. Elvis had promised his mother Gladys that he would sing" Peace in the Valley" for her on his January 6, 1957 appearance on the Ed Sullivan show. Gordon Stoker of The Jordanaires tells how the producers did not want the young rebel rocker to sing a gospel song, but Elvis insisted. A week later on January 13, 1957, Elvis recorded the song at Radio Recorders in Hollywood, accompanied by Scotty Moore (lead guitar), Bill Black (bass), D. J. Fontana (drums) and The Jordanaires (backing vocals), with Gordon Stoker playing piano. That same day Elvis also recorded another Dorsey song, "Take My Hand, Precious Lord". Dorsey wrote it in 1932 in an attempt to ease his overwhelming grief after the death of his first wife and child in childbirth. Mr. Dorsey recorded the song himself in 1939.

FROM THE BOTTLE TO THE BOTTOM
You ask me if I'm happy now that's good as any joke I've heard
It seems that since I've seen you last I done forgot the meanin' of the word
If happiness is empty rooms and drinkin' in the afternoon
Well I suppose I'm happy as a clam
But if it's got a thing to do with smilin' of forgettin' you
Well I don't guess that I could say I am

Did you ever see a down and outer waking up alone
Without a blanket on to keep him from the dew
When the water from the weeds has soaked the paper
He's been puttin' in his shoes to keep the ground from comin' through

And his future feels as empty as the pocket in his pants
Because he's never seen a single dream come true
That's the way that I've been feelin' since the day I started falling
From the bottle to the bottom stool by stool
Learnin' hard to live with losin' you

You wonder if I'm better off with freedom now to do the things I choose
With all my times my own and I got nothin' left but sleepin' time to lose
There's no one here to carry on If I stay out the whole night long
Give a cankerous damn if I don't call
I'm livin' like I wanted to and doin' things I wanna do
And nothin' means a thing to me at all

Did you ever see a down and outer waking up alone
Without a blanket on to keep him from the dew
When the water from the weeds soaked the paper
He's been puttin' in his shoes to keep the ground from comin' through

And his future feels as empty as the pocket in his pants
Because he's never seen a single dream come true
That's the way that I've been feelin' since the day I started falling
From the bottle to the bottom stool by stool
Learnin' hard to live with losin' you

Amazing Grace was written by a former slave trader John Newton.. Once sailing a ship full of slaves from Africa his ship was hit by a fierce storm... Newton feared for his life and got down on his knees and begged the good Lord to spare his life..He promised the Lord that if he would only spare his life he would change his ways a stop trading slaves.. The storm calmed down and Newton wrote the song Amazing Grace, full of sorrow and love and hope that he would be forgiving of his sins. One of the most powerful songs ever written and this is one of the most beautiful versions ever recorded.

Amazing Grace Amazing grace, how sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now I'm found. Was blind, but now I see. 'Twas grace that taught my heart to feel And grace my fears relieved. How precious did that grace appear The hour I first believed. Through many dangers toils and snares We have already come 'Twas grace that brought us safe that far And grace will lead us home When we’ve been there ten thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise Than when we’d first begun. Amazing grace, how sweet the sound That saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now I'm found. Was blind, but now I see

Einen sonnigen „Guten Morgen” wünsche ich!
