M1 Max 32GPU Leistung Extrem Mangelhaft, 15 Stunden Video Export

Grüßt euch,

ich hatte mir den M1 Max mit 32 GPU zugelegt für Video Bearbeitung, doch ich bin extrem enttäuscht. Die Bearbeitung von 4K Videos braucht extrem lange, ich muss manchmal einen ganzen Tag einplanen nur für ein einziges 9 Stunden Video.

Gestern hat der Export von 12:37 bis Heute früh um 4:43 gedauert ,für ein läppisches 9 Stunden Gameplay Video.

Ganz ehrlich Leute, ich finde die Leistung vom M1 Max extrem mangelhaft und ich hatte gehofft, endlich Videos in 3 - 5 Stunden exportieren zu können... Doch egal ob ich iMovie oder Final Cut Pro nutze, der Export braucht Ewigkeiten.

Das System hat noch fast 70% Reserven und trotzdem dauert der Export Ewigkeiten...

Meiner Meinung nach das Geld hinten und vorne nicht wert, ich würde am liebsten den MacStudio zurück senden. Alternativen gibt es aber bisher nicht wirklich oder?

Hi,
Das sieht eher nach schlecht angepasster Software aus, als nach einem Hardware Schwachpunkt, da nutzt die Software die Hardware nicht komplett aus, da müssen diese Software Hersteller noch nachbessern.

Angeblich ist Final Cut Pro 10.6.2 Optimiert für Mac Studio, ich merke da aber absolut nichts von.

Das liegt sicher an an Adobe, dieser "Verein" macht halt nur das nötigste an ihrer Software, wenn sie es richtig machen würden, gehört Final Cut Pro, von Grund auf neu Programmiert, dann läuft es auch besser auf Apples M1 Rechnern.

MWn ist das auch eine Frage des benutzten Codecs. Welchen verwendest du denn für den Export? Und welchen das Quell Material?

Apple meinte, ich soll mal das Quellmaterial auf die MacStudio Festplatte kopieren und es dann noch mal versuchen. Ich werde es testen.

Wo hattest du das denn vorher? Auf einer lahmen SD Karte?
Nochmal: Hardware Support gibt es nicht für alle Codecs! Du musst schon sagen, welche du da verwendest. Ein Codec, der rein von der CPU berechnet werden muss, hat gar nichts von deinen 32 GPUs.

Nein auf einer externen Festplatte, ich ging davon aus das es ausreichend wäre, aber da habe ich wohl den Flaschenhals unterschätzt.

Bei ProRes wäre es schnell, aber ohne ProRes ist es langsam....

Bin dabei es zu testen, leider torpediert mich iMovie jedesmal. Ich habe eine neue DB für iMovie erstellt und in iMovie die Medien Files in die neue kopiert. Wenn ich die externe Festplatte dann ausschalte, sind 65% der Medien Files nicht mehr da und schwarz unkenntlich.

Ich habe den Vorgang mehrmals versucht, ich weiß nicht, warum iMovie so scheiße dumm ist.

Nun habe ich die Files noch mal gesucht und importiere diese in eine neue Medien DB und dann teste ich.

Nein, ich dachte, das könnte sich für Dich anbieten, um Anwenderfehler so weit wie möglich auszuschließen.

War auch eher als Scherz gemeint. xD Nein, ich habe schon mit der Apple Abteilung für iMovie gesprochen und die einzigste Fehlerquelle muss das Laufwerk sein. Deshalb teste ich das jetzt.

Ich produziere viele Videos in 4K 60FPS und teilweise in 6K mit einem einfachen M1 Mac mini mit 16 GB Ram. Dabei kopiere ich die notwendigen Videodateien in ein Verzeichnis auf einer SSD, die via Thunderbolt direkt mit dem Mac verbunden ist. Auf dieser Platte liegt dann auch eine iMovie Library, in die ich das Schnittmaterial für das jeweilige Projekt importiere. Geschwindigkeitseinbussen gegenüber der Nutzung der internen SSD kann ich nicht feststellen. Weiterer Vorteil: wenn ich Bock habe, auf der Terrasse zu arbeiten, werfe ich die Platte aus und schliesse sie an meinem MacBook Air M1 an, dass die gleiche Performance hat, wie der Mac mini.

Also - kauf Dir eine SSD, schliesse sie am Thunderbolt an und arbeite mal so. Wirst sehen, wie die Maschine dann rennt!

Doch, normaler Codes, kein ProRes...

Dazu alles mal auf auf einer SSD zu einer SSD getestet, wie Apple es gewünscht hatte... Ich sage nur, iMovie ist seit 22:20 läuft ein 7 Stunden Film Export in 4K mit Einstellung Hoch, "Kein ProRes" und ich habe den Mac die ganze Nacht angelassen, kein Ruhezustand und er braucht noch eine Stunde... Hat dazu auch mehr als das doppelte der Größe. Die berechnet wurde... Jetzt schon knapp 300GB, es sollten aber 150 ca. sein.

Ich hasse iMovie, es ist ein Dreckig Programmiertes Programm

Damit hast du die Frage auch irgendwie indirekt beantwortet ... "normal" also. Und iMovie ist ja auch eher ein Indiz als ne Antwort

Man hat hier halt echt so Vibes wie vom Hochzeitsfotograf mit einem iPhone, dem Küchenchef mit der Tüte Fertignudeln oder dem Webdesigner, der lediglich Wordpress-Templates zusammenklickt. Gönn dir doch mal nen Tag deiner wichtige Zeit und beschäftige dich etwas tiefer mit der Thematik.

Was unterschiedliche Video-Codecs - und vor allem sowas wie eine Auslagerung auf ne externe Festplatte - für nen Impact haben können, fällt dir dann wie Schuppen von den Augen.
