Ich hab’ jetzt nicht den ganzen Thread haarklein durchgelesen, daher mag Einiges von Folgendem schon beschrieben worden sein:

1. Wenn anstelle der erwarteten Identität unerwartet eine neue, ansonsten leere erscheint, ist der Ordner der erwarteten Identität umbenannt oder verschoben worden (oder eine andere oder neue gar aktiv angelegt und aktiviert worden). Ein Rückumbenennen oder -verschieben alleine mag nicht helfen. Vielmehr ist die erwartete Identität ggf. via Entourage > Identität wechseln… (er)neu(t) auszuwählen zu versuchen.

2. Ich unterstelle, dass der von dir genannte Pfad »Dokumente/Microsoft Benutzerdaten/Office 200/ Identitäten« hier nur der Eile geschuldete Schreibfehler enthält. Erwarten würde ich ~/Dokumente/Microsoft-Benutzerdaten/Office 2008-Identitäten/name_deiner_identität/.

3. Ist die Identität hingegen tatsächlich defekt – und hilft die Reparatur mittels Datenbankdienstprogramm nicht, bedarf es zwingend einer (möglichst aktuellen) Datensicherung.
Entweder in Form einer von Entourage (freilich zuvor) erstellten .rge-Datei (die dient zum Import in eine andere oder neue leere Identität);
oder indem ~/Dokumente/Microsoft-Benutzerdaten/Office 2008-Identitäten/name_deiner_identität/ zu einem Zeitpunkt vór auftreten des Problems am Stück gesichert worden wäre. Die würde bei beendeten MSO-Programmen einfach durch die defekte Identität (gleichen Namens?) getauscht, dann ggf. noch mittels Identität wechseln… (s.o.) neu als Identität ausgewählt.

4. Bei der Sachlage hilft nie, MSO2008 neu zu installieren. Und falls MSO2008 doch neu installiert worden wäre (etwa als Übersprungshandlung), dann müssen auch wieder alle zutreffenden Updates drauf (zuletzt v12.3.6 (bei Verwendung von Entourage2008-EWS ist jenes v13.1.6)).

OT Frage

Ein Time Machine Backup bringt dir in dem Fall.... rein gar nichts, da Time Machine die Datenbank in Outlook nicht sichert. Ah.. ich seh gerade Entourage...

Oha - das ist übel... siehe https://support.microsoft.com/de-de/kb/946961

Wenn Time Machine eine automatische Sicherung gestartet wird, während Entourage 2008 die Datenbank ändern, beschädigen der Sicherungsvorgang die Sicherungskopie der Datenbank.

Das passiert doch aber bei anderen Programmen wie z.B. iPhoto auch nicht? Oder trifft das auf sämtliche Datenbankanwendungen auf dem Mac zu, die parallel zu Sicherung durch TM Änderungen an der DB durchführen. Das wäre ziemlich übel...

Was nutzt mir ein so tolles Backup-Programm wie TM, wenn so wichtige Daten wie Mails sich nicht sichern lassen damit?

besten Dank für Deine ausführliche Nachricht. In der Tat in der Eile habe ich mich verschrieben aber meinte den gleichen Pfad wie Du.
Das Problem ist nur, dass ich nie eine .rge Datei erstellt habe und vor dem Auftreten des Problems auch nichts unternommen habe. Es lief ja alles sehr gut...davor. Gegebenenfalls wollte ich tatsächlich heute Abend entweder das MSO2008 oder MSO2011 neu installieren aber es soll nicht bringen, wie Du schreibst. Summa summarum ich komme wirklich nicht an den großen Datei-Ordner dran?

Paul, schau dir lieber den nicht-maschinell übersetzten englischen KB-Artikel an. Dann wäre leichter zu erkennen, dass dieser Artikel in der Sache leider asymptotisch gegen Null hilft.

Dieser geht davon aus, jemand hätte eine defekte Identität aus einer TimeMachine-Sicherung restituiert – und deswegen Probleme mit Entourage2008 bekommen. Was eine Binsenweisheit wäre, wenn die Identität in der Sicherung schon defekt ist.
Und dann wird halt geraten, aus der TimeMachine-Zeitleiste eine funktionierende gesicherte Identität wiederherstellen zu lassen. Was alles völlig logisch ist (logisch im Sinne eines Hilfeartikels), aber nicht pragmatisch für den Problemhaber (der wie hier ja schon weiß, oder Grund zur Annahme hat, das seine aktive Identität defekt ist).

Das passiert doch aber bei anderen Programmen wie z.B. iPhoto auch nicht? Oder trifft das auf sämtliche Datenbankanwendungen auf dem Mac zu, die parallel zu Sicherung durch TM Änderungen an der DB durchführen. Das wäre ziemlich übel...
Was nutzt mir ein so tolles Backup-Programm wie TM, wenn so wichtige Daten wie Mails sich nicht sichern lassen damit?

iPhoto, Aperture, iTunes etc. haben Datenbank direkt in der Library oder bei iTunes in der .itml die mitgesichert wird. Bei Outlook kannst du das aber vergessen. Da hilft nur, auf 14.1 zurückzugehen (viel Spaß beim Finden einer alten Outlook Version), die Identität wieder herzustellen und die aktuellen Updates einzuspielen, danach eine .pst als Sicherung erstellen. Outlook/Entourage ist ein reiner Krampf, ich hab damals schon ewig gebraucht, Outlook 2003 zu Mail unter 10.6 zu migrieren...

Der Fehlerbericht wird hier im Forum praktisch wenig helfen.
Einzig die Versionsnummer zeigt, dass in Sachen Updates für MSO2008 noch Spiel nach oben ist: wie weiter oben geschrieben ist v12.3.6 die letzte für MSO2008 verfügbare Aktualisierung.
Versuche MSO2008 auf diesen Stand zu bringen. Bei dieser alten Software bin ich nicht mehr ganz auf dem Laufenden, aber ich vermute, dass in der Reihenfolge v12.2.0, v12.3.0 und dann v12.3.6 zu installieren sind.

EDIT: Sehe gerade in den Systemanforderungen: v12.3.0 als Zwischenstopp ist entbehrlich.

6. Once the folder copies over, you want to rename it, so that Entourage doesn’t get confused. Name it with today’s date and “Main Identity” or “Entourage backup”.

Now Time Machine will back up your Main Identity backup folder the next time it runs. You can even keep multiple Main Identity folders, with different backup dates.

Remember that the more frequently you follow these instructions to back up your Entourage database, the less mail you will lose if your Entourage gets corrupted and you need to revert to an earlier backup.

Die klassische monolithische »Datenbank« ist ja auch ein veraltetes Konzept; schwer datenzusichern (Stichwort TimeMachine), schwer zu durchsuchen (Stichwort Spotlight) – bei Entourage2008 via Metadaten als Schattendatenbank umgangen.
Darum haben Outlook2011, und Mail schon früher, auf eine einzeldateibasierte Verwaltung umgestellt.

Immer schön dran denken, dass bei deinen 18 umzuwälzenden GB auf der Platte auch mindestens 18 (d.h. tatsächlich weit mehr) weitere GB Platz sind. Es wird bei der Reparatur ja nichts beseitigt, sondern nur umbenannt/dupliziert, dann neuerstellt.
