Uni Magdeburg - iPhone & iPod touch - VPN Lösung

Hi,

1. Hab den Cisco Client nur bei mir zuhause aufm Rechner, aber keine Profil-Dateien bekommen. Ich bin nach dieser Anleitung vorgegangen: http://www.uni-koeln.de/rrzk/uklan/vpn/

2. Eigentlich möchte ich das WLAN nur nutzen um per iPhone ab und zu im Netz zu surfen. Dafür ist zwar ein Web Formular online, bei dem ich mich mit meinem Account einloggen kann, jedoch stört es mich, dass die Leute die um mich herum sitzen alle das Passwort sehen können. Ist es mit 802.1x nicht so, dass ich mit diesem Zertifikat online gehen kann ohne immer meine Daten manuell eingeben zu müssen?

3.Habe ein offizielles iPhone 3G mit 2.0.1. Auf meinem Rechner ist auch dieses iPhone Utility Tool installiert.

4.Da nehm ich immer das Web Formular. Der Cisco Client funktioniert natürlich auch. Übrigens habe ich das iPhone schon erfolgreich mit dem VPN Netz verbunden, allerdings muss ich wenn ich in der Uni bin ja erstmal in das Uni Wlan reinkommen wodurch ich wieder mein Passwort angeben muss.

Ich stelle mir das so vor, dass ich das 802.1x Netz sehe, draufklicke und online bin. Stimmt das so oder habe ichs einfach nur falsch verstanden?

Wow, this whole thing is more complicated than I thought, but here's what you have to do to connect to an 802.1X network. These instructions are incomplete because the settings will depend on your own network.

1) Download the iPhone Configuration Utility to your computer from here: http://www.apple.com/support/downloa...formacosx.html

2) Setup a new profile by clicking on "Configuration Profiles" on the left pane then clicking "New"

3) Name the network under the "General" tab

4) Under the "WiFi" tab, you need to put in your network SSID, security type, protocols etc. You can try to get this information from you computer's setup for this network if you have it. Otherwise you might need to talk to your IT people.

5) Under the "Credentials" tab, you have to add your network's certificates. You cannot find them for some reason unless you drag them from you keychain and copy to you desktop (do a spotlight search for "keychain" to find this folder). After you add the certificate(s), go back to "WiFi", go down and click the "Trust" button. You should see the certificate, check the box.

6) Okay, here's the weird part. Once you've created the profile properly, e-mail it (or post it on a server with a proper MIME type) and open the profile attachment on your iPhone to install it. From there you should be able to connect.

ansonsten kommt es hier nicht auf dein iPhone an..
sondern auf die Frage wie deine Uni das regelt und damit kann dir wohl eher dein Rechenzentrum oder andere Studenten weiterhelfen

wenn du mit einem Laptop ins Uni-WLAN kommst ohne über diese Login-Seite dein pswd einzugeben, dann sollte es mit dem iPhone auch möglich sein - ansonsten hat es einfach nicht so viel mit der Tatsache zu tun, dass 802.1x genutzt wird..

ich kann dir da schlecht weiterhelfen, da ich mich mit den Umständen an deiner Uni einfach nicht auskenne
