The
System Integrity Protection (SIP) feature introduced by Apple in El Capitan prevents the use of third-party software in Disk Utility. Advanced features such as formatting or repairing drives are only accessible through command line. If you wish to erase your drive in NTFS format, you should use the following command:
diskutil erasevolume 'Tuxera NTFS' '<LABEL>' /dev/<device ID>
For example: diskutil erasevolume 'Tuxera NTFS' 'MYDRIVE' /dev/disk3s1
If you don't know the <device ID> of your drive, you can find it with the command:
diskutil list
If you wish to repair your drive, you should use the following command:
diskutil repairvolume /dev/<device ID>
For example: diskutil repairvolume /dev/disk3s1
If your drive cannot be repaired using the previous command, first unmount your drive:
sudo diskutil unmount <device ID>
For example: sudo diskutil unmount disk3s1
and then run the following command in order to repair it:
sudo /Library/Filesystems/fusefs_txantfs.fs/Contents/Resources/Support/fusefs_txantfs.repair /dev/<device ID>
For example: sudo /Library/Filesystems/fusefs_txantfs.fs/Contents/Resources/Support/fusefs_txantfs.repair /dev/disk3s1
