Matlab für den mac?

Hi Leute,
Ich habe seid drei Monaten ein macbook. Vorher war ich ein Windows Benutzer. Bisher läuft alles wunderbar. Nun habe ich aber ein Problem:
Ich studiere Wirtschaftsingenieurwesen an der Hochschule Niederrhein in Krefeld und muss dafür mit "Matlab", einem Simmulationspragramm, arbeiten. Das Programm läuft nicht bei mir und ich weiß nicht warum.
Kann mir jemand einen Tipp geben? Muss ich vielleicht Windows installieren, oder geht es auch ohne?
Ich hoffe jemand kann mir helfen.

Matlab läuft noch nicht offiziell auf einem Intel-Mac. Es gibt eine Beta-Version, die bei der neuen Version 2006 dabei ist. Allerdings würde ich gleich Nägel mit Köpfen machen und die Sache unter Windows installieren (mittels Parallels oder Bootcamp).

Es gibt anscheinend auch die Möglichkeit Matlab unter Rosetta laufenzu lassen. Habe ich selber aber noch nicht getestet.


MATLAB under Rosetta will run without the JVM, from the X11 xterm or Terminal command line. However, most GUI features including the MATLAB Desktop and Figure Plot tools will be unavailable, and there may be noticeable performance degradation. MATLAB will run on an Intel-based Mac under Rosetta by following these steps:
Locate the ‘matlab’ shell script in your Applications -> MATLAB7x -> bin folder in the Finder.
Start the X11 xterm application (located in Applications -> Utilities).
Using either xterm or the Terminal application (also located in Applications -> Utilities), enter the POSIX (‘/’-separated) path to the ‘matlab’ shell script with the command line options ‘-nojvm –display :0’
Tip: You can drag the ‘matlab’ script’s icon from the Finder into Terminal to paste in this path automatically. For example, for MATLAB R2006b, with a default installation, you would type the following followed by return:
/Applications/MATLAB73/bin/matlab –nojvm –display :0

ich wollt mal nach dem akuellen stand fragen weils bei mir in numerik jetz damit anfängt.
welche version läuft aufm mac? gibts ne studentenversion? (kostenlos?)
