iPod Classic

How can I use my iPod Classic (160 GB) with my MBP (macOS Mojave 10.14.6)? I am told from different sides that Apple doesn't support this anymore! A catastrophe!

My Shuffle 1st Gen works perfect. I dont know if the Classic makes a difference but I think its not.

check the Finder, it took a while on my 2018 MBP, about 5 to 10 minutes

edit: this was even on Mac OS Catalina
