imac und macbook synchronisieren über externe festplatte?

hallo

ich plane mir im januar einen imac zuzulegen und bekäme dazu evntl. ein günstiges gebrauchtes macbook. nun möchte ich beide macs immer synchronisieren was die gesamten datenbestände auf der festplatte betrifft.

problem ist folgendes: ich pendle öfters zwischen 2 wohnungen. in der hauptwohnung steht der imac, in der anderen wohnung wäre das macbook (brauche die rechner auch nur in den beiden wohnungen). ist es nun möglich über TM am imac ein backup auf eine externe festplatte zu erstellen, diese festplatte dann mit zum macbook zu nehmen und auf dem macbook das timemachine backup aufzuspielen? möchte halt auf meinem macbook immer alle daten die auf dem imac sind (adressdaten, systemeinstellungen, programme etc., quasi ein genaues abbild der festplatte).

ne externe festplatte is leichter zu transportieren als immer das komplette macbook, deswegen wäre es sehr gut wenn ihr mir bei meiner frage helfen könntet.

3. Take the hard drive home and set up a bidirectional sync between your home Mac and the external hard drive. Save the synchronizer document locally on your home computer.

4. Perform the synchronization using the document you just created.

5. When you are finished working at home, run the synchronizer document again to synchronize your changes back to the hard drive.

6. When you return to work, connect the hard drive to your computer and run the synchronizer document you created in step 1.

Repeat the steps 2, 4, 5 & 6 on a daily basis to keep your two computers synchronized. When you get real comfortable with the process, you may even want to set up a scheduled synchronization that will sync your computer and hard drive automatically whenever you plug the hard drive in."...

danke schonmal für die antwort. hab grade mal aufd er herstllerseite nachgeschat und finde dort als bezahloption leider nur "kreditkarte". habe aber keine (und kenne auch keinen der eine hat).

ich synce meine beiden auhc mit externer festplatte aber halt nur den dokumente ordner aber mehr wirst du ja auch nicht brauchen ?!
das ganze mach ich mit dem programm synctwofolders. einfach mal googlen. funktioniert klasse.
eine andere möglichkeit wäre dropbox übers internet.

Ich empfehle Mobile.Me: Hier kannst Du die Kalender und Adressen PERFEKT synchronisieren. Richtig cool ist es, wenn Du am iPhone (oder iPod Touch) sofern vorhanden vor Ort eine Telefonnummer eintippst und diese dann binnen Sekunden an beiden Macs erscheinen.
Für Daten gäbe es iDisk innerhalb Mobile.me, wobei das nur für kleine Datenmengen interessant ist. Optional auch ein NAS System an einem Standpunkt aufstellen welches über eine Dyn DNS via INternet zu erreichen ist und als zentraler Datenspeicher dienst. Hier empfehle ich die Geräte von Synology.
Ist ein etwas andere Ansatz als die "Platten-transportier-Methode", aber vielleicht eine Option.

vielen dank schonmal. ne online lösung is mir zu teuer, außerdem möchte ich nicht nur die dokumente, sondern wenn möglich das gesamte betriebssystem samt daten wie programme, musik etc. synchronisieren. und das sind bestimmt 100+GB (allein schon die musik aus itunes).

werde mir die empfohlenen programme mal anschauen.
