Hi Jorge
That's right : 4 screws for each CPU. But to access to these screws you must remove the heatsink cover. The heatsink will come easily with the CPU board attached.
First of all you got to buy two Thermaltake 60 cm fans :
http://www.mycableshop.com/sku/10701.htm
I made the change for two G5 dual 2 Ghzand they're working great.
To summarize :
- The fans connectors are Ok : just have to solder the order on the wire to change the colors / apple connectors position are not the same.
- You will need a philips screw driver longer than the heatsink height.
- The MAIN thing that most people don't know : how to slide the heatsink cover to access the CPU screws : very easy will show in a diagram.
- the steps :
1- remove the AGP card which hides the rear fans connections
2- remove the rear (heatsink)fans
3 - remove the heatsink cover
4 - remove the four CPU screws
5- remove the CPU
6- remove the front (firewire and USB) connectors from the mother board
7- remove the mother board PSU connectors (2 big connectors)
7- remove the 2 screws on the upper side and the 4 on the down side of the power supply
8- remove the PSU cover
9- Now you got to be 2 persons to remove the power supply : one will lift it up and the other will disconnect the wire in the front side of the PSU (cannot do that alone-it's pretty heavy and will damage the alu case)
10- remove the fans screws
11- remove all the PSU screws
12- slide to open the PSU cover
13- mount the new fans with a small piece of rubber with a hole, put the screw through the piece of rubber.
14- connect the fans (one with a 3 pins connector the other with a 2 pins connector)
