Zugriff auf Novell Netware Server verhält sich komisch

Seit ein paar Tagen hab wir auf mehreren Macs (10.4.8, Intel) komische Probleme. Und zwar stehen die Daten auf Serverlaufwerken (Novell Netware 6.0.5). Klick ich mich im Finder hin bis zu den Daten dann geht das ohne Probleme. Will ich aber zum Beispiel im Lotus Notes eine Datei anhängen (vom Serverlaufwerk). Dann wird Notes immer langsamer und stürzt mit "aufgrund eines Problems ..." ab. Mach ich das ganze lokal, dann gehts auch.
Betroffen ist aber nicht nur Notes, sondern auch Freehand. Auch Quark Xpress beim Bild laden zum Beispiel. Dieses wird langsamer. Dann kommen des öfteren graue Streifen und dann hängts. PRAM löschen, Cache löschen usw. bringt meist nichts. Applejack auch nicht. Filesystemcheck auch nicht. Kann sein das der Pfad zu lange ist bis zu den Daten? Diese Pfade sehen ungefähr so aus: Vol1/DOCU/Grafik/Allgemein/Rudiratlos/Logos

Oder könnte es sein das es mit dem begrenzten Paltz am Server zu tun hat? Es sind mom. nur noch 5 GB frei.
Die Windowsrechner funktionieren problemlos.

jetzt hab ich noch eine frage. welche möglichkeiten gibts für einen communication trace?
