Verbrauch Prozess "Windowserver"

Hallo zusammen
seit letztem Donnerstag habe ich das neue MacBook Pro (14", 10 Core CPU, 16GB RAM) und ich hab jetzt festgestellt, dass der Prozess "windowserver" extrem viel Ressourcen braucht. Bei der CPU sind das immer zwischen 100 und 150%, beim RAM zwischen 10 und 25GB (?).
Ich habe etwas danach gegoogelt und das scheint ein relativ bekanntes Problem zu sein, aber bei den meisten sind die Werte nicht so hoch oder ist der Ursprung ein externes Display oder eine Maus (beides ist bei mir nicht angeschlossen).
Zuerst dachte ich noch an die Indexierung da es ein neues Gerät ist, aber die sollte doch nach 4 Tagen auch endlich abgeschlossen sein, oder? OS ist das neuste mir angebotene installiert (12.0.1). Nach einem Neustart geht es wieder, wird dann mit der Zeit aber genau gleich hoch wie vorher.
Installiert habe ich noch nicht viel (paar Adobe Produkte, Office, paar Browser und kleine Tools wie Magnet oder istat) und momentan nur Safari, Firefox und Mail offen. Ich habe gerade auf macrumors gelesen, dass ich nicht der Einzige mit diesem Problem bin, vielleicht heisst es einfach abwarten. Aber vielleicht hat ja der eine oder andere von euch noch eine Idee.
Eine Frage:
- sind die 100% CPU Last auf einen Core bezogen? Bei der Gesamtauslastung sieht es nämlich nicht danach aus, dass das System viel zu tun hätte

100 Prozent entsprechend einem Kern, ja.

Versuche es doch mal ohne Magnet.app und iStat, ob das besser läuft.

offenbar scheint es etwas mit Full Screen Videos in Firefox/Chrome zu tun zu haben (war ein Tipp aus anderen Foren). Ein erster Test bei mir hat tatsächlich gezeigt, dass es nicht mehr aufgetreten ist wenn ich keine Vollbild-Videos schaue in Firefox. Bei Safari müsste ich das noch testen.
Ist unschön, aber trotzdem gut, dass man einen Workaround hat bis dann hoffentlich ein Fix kommt.

hallo, ich habe gleiche Problem bei einem MacbookAir 2020, i5: extrem hohe CPU (150%) von 'windowserver' und entsprechend laute Geräusche wenn ich Videos im Vollbildmodus abspiele (bei Zoom Konferenzen tritt das nicht so schnell ein). Den Lösungsvorschlag auf der Apple-Support Website (Reset SMC) wie auch Programme wie Onyx, Malwarebytes oder ComboCleaner haben nur für kurze Zeit das Mac leiser gestellt, danach ist es wieder dröhnend hochgefahren.
Ich habe auf dem PC nur wenige Programme installiert, meistens nicht viele Tabs auf und mein Startmenü auch nicht voll mit Icons - das sind meistens die "Gründe" die man liest warum es zu einer hohen CPU Auslastung kommt.

Ehrlich gesagt möchte ich nicht auf Vollbildmodus verzichten und auch nicht auf Firefox/Chrome. Ich denke, dafür hab ich mir nicht vor knapp zwei Jahren zum ersten Mal ein Macbook geleistet. Gibt es da nicht noch einen anderen Weg? Vielleicht bin ich da auch zu naiv, aber was ist mit Garantie seitens Apple?

Wenn du anstelle von Chrome, die gleichen Webseiten, bzw. deinen Workflow mit Safari ansteuerst, gibt es dann auch das Problem, Chrome ist/war nicht gut an OS X/macOS angepasst und ist/war recht Ressourcenhungrig, scheint bei dir auch der Fall zu sein.

.... tja, vom Regen in die Traufe. Chrome ist einfach speicherhungrig. Und als Electron-App auf dem M1 erst recht. Nimm Safari.

Hallo liebe Community,

ich habe leider auch seit geraumer Zeit mit dem Windowserver-Prozess zu kämpfen, welcher mich regelmäßig zum Reboot zwingt. Trat heute wieder mehrere Male bei mir auf, habe sämtliche Anwendungen geschlossen, leider ohne sichtbaren Erfolg. MacBook wird unverhältnimäßig warm, ja geradezu heiß und der Lüfter läuft auf Hochtouren.

Soweit ich das beobachten konnte, tritt der Fehler vor allem dann auf, wenn ich viel mit der Maus arbeite. Hatte schon das BetterTouch Tool, welches ich gern benutze, in Verdacht, allerdings auch hier leider Fehlanzeige. Unverändert starker Ressourcenverbrauch nachdem ich die Software geschlossen hatte.

In der Hoffnung, dass hier Jemand eine Lösung für das Problem hat, werde ich Euch demnächst auch noch einen EtreCheck Report posten, denn ich bin mit meinem Latein leider am Ende.

Heute Mittag hatte ich leider nur eine Prozessauswertung über die Aktivitätsanzeige gemacht.
