Outlook +lässt +sich +schon +seit +einiger +Zeit +nicht +durch +einfaches +Schließen +beenden, +nur +durch +"Sofort +beenden".

Systemeinstellungen -> Tastatur -> Text -> Ersetzen -> Leerzeichen durch Leerzeichen+ ?

Einfaches Herausziehen der USB-Tastatur hat gereicht. Outlook lässt sich allerdings weiter nicht durch Schließen beenden!

Ich würde ja auch erwarten, dass es durch Beenden beendet würde.
Altes macOS-Standard-Verhalten: Schließen alias Befehl+W schließt das offene Fenster, Beenden alias Befehl+Q beendet das Programm.

EDIT: Ach so, deine #4.
Sicher, dass kein Prozess im Programm läuft oder hängt (etwa (zu große) Email senden; Email steckt im Postausgang fest; o.ä.)
Tritt das Verhalten auch in einem anderen/neuen Benutzerkonto mit einem testweise dort in Outlook eingerichteten Profil auf?

Ja, es wird wohl so sein, dass irgendwelche Prozesse im Programm laufen und vielleicht einer meiner diversen Mail-Provider bei IMAP (was das neue Outlook offenbar nicht mehr unterstützen will) alles ausbremst.
 
Kann vielleicht jemand zu diesen etre check-Meldungen einen Tipp geben?
