The new 15-inch MacBook Pro is better for the environment, thanks to its new mercury-free display. Backlit by light emitting diodes (LEDs), the display weighs less and is more power efficient than the cold cathode fluorescent lamps (CCFLs) which most notebooks employ, and provides full brightness immediately after the system is turned on.

Zudem unterstützen die Geräte nun ab sofort Santa Rosa u. ATI musste Nvidia weichen.

Als Ergänzung sei noch erwähnt, dass nur das 15" Modell LED verbaut hat. Das 17"er setzt auf altbewährtes, ist aber optional mit höherer Auflösung zu haben.

Bezüglich aufkommender Fragen wegen Santa Rosa (Centrino Duo). Bei diesem Chipsatz ist ein DDR2 RAM mit 667er Takt vorgesehen, also alles wie gehabt. Der Speicher läuft asynchron zum FSB (800 MHz).

It has some decent specs on it including; 1440 x 900 resolution, 16ms response time, 500:1 contrast ratio, 45% color gamut, 120 degrees visibility angle and 300 cd/m2 brightness.
