Hallo und Grüezi liebe Forumsgemeinde. Ich hoffe ich bin hier im richtigen Unterforum gelandet mit meinem Anliegen:
Besagter Mac ist ultralangsam, insbesondere nach dem Neustart, naja eigentlich immer.
Ich habe hier im Forum eine sehr nützliche Anleitung gefunden wie ich über EtreCheck ein Protokoll erstellen und dieses dann hier einstellen kann.

Das werde ich heute noch erledigen und ich freue mich wenn jemand mir weiterhelfen könnte wo das oder die Probleme liegen.

Das MacBook 2012 ist mein quasi Reserve Mac, schreiben tu ich hier vom neuen 2022-er Modell und nun mit Ventura was mir sehr gut gefällt.
Abe gerne würde ich das alte MacBook weiter hegen und pflegen.

Abe gerne würde ich das alte MacBook weiter hegen und pflegen.

Es steht ja bereits im ersten Abschnitt deines Protokolls.
Der Batterie Fehler sorgt schon mal dafür das dieses Gerät nur mit verminderter Leistung arbeitet.

Bei nur noch geringer Kapazität und/oder z.B auch einer hohen Anzahl an Lade- Entladezyken würde ich die Batterie austauschen.

Die Batterie hat sodann auch einen Einfluss wenn der Mac am Netteil läuft?
 
Fragt sich dann natürlich ob sich das noch lohnt (SSD und neue Batterie) hmmm

Wäre es auch eine Möglichkeit die Batterie einfach zu entfernen? Ich betreibe das Gerät ausschliesslich am Netzteil
 
Also wenn da eine HDD drin ist, ist bereits klar warum das mit einem einigermaßen modernen macOS so langsam läuft. Das wäre auch mit einem neuen Akku so. Eine SSD lohnt auf jeden Fall wenn du das weiterbenutzen willst.
 
36MB/sek?
Das ist ja USB 2 Niveau, die HDD solltest du wirklich durch eine SSD ersetzen.

Ok, dann mache ich mich mal schlau wie man sowas macht, wird ja keine Hexerei sein:p mit 2 linken Händen geht das bestimmt flott...

Troztdem noch die Frage: Batterie entfernen? Wenn ich sie eh nicht brauche?

Das die "Batterie gewartet werden sollte" heißt noch lange nicht, dass sie es muss !
Wenn Du quasi-ausschließlich am Netz arbeitest, ist auch eine weitgehend verbrauchte Batterie nützlich, wäre es nur, um den RAM-Inhalt und die Uhrzeit sicherzustellen.
Vorausgesetzt, sie ist nicht aufgebläht.

Ich würde Dir "osx_battery_charge_limit" von Github empfehlen, da AlDente mindestens Catalina verlangt.
Damit parametrierest Du den SMC so, dass er die alte Batterie nur zu 70% auflädt.
Dann brauchst Du dir über die Batterie keine Gedanken machen und hast ein Mindestmaß an Puffer bei Stromunterbrechungen.
 
Beim einbau der SSD tauscht du am besten gleich das anschlusskabel. Das ist eine übliche fehlerquelle bei dem modell. Die scharfe kante, über die das läuft, polsterst du mit einem kleinen stück klebeband. Guck dir die reparaturanleitung bei ifixit.com an.

Alternativ kannst du während des Startvorgangs Wahltaste-Befehlstaste-R verwenden, damit dir entweder das neueste mit deinem Mac kompatible macOS oder in einigen Fällen das mit deinem Mac ausgelieferte macOS oder die nächste noch verfügbare Version angeboten wird.

Brauchst du die alten daten nicht? Sonst mach einfach einen klon der HDD auf die SSD.
 
Verständnisfrage: Um einen Klon zu erstellen, müsste ich die SSD welche ich einbauen will vorgängig mit einem Kabel (welches ich nicht besitze) am Mac anschliessen? Die Daten sind nicht so wichtig die sind x-fach irgendwo gespeichert. Nichts testo tzrotz mache ich gerade ein Backup über TimeMachine.
Ich will das Teil jetzt aufschrauben:music:
Wenn ich die SSD jetzt einbaue. Anschliessend mit Wahltaste-Befehlstaste-R Catalina installiere und anschliessend die Daten aus dem Backup hole dann passt das? Oder muss die SSD anderweitig (USB-Stick) formatiert werden?
 
Übrigens danke euch für die Unterstützung, ich habe beschlossen das Unternehmen auf kalte Wintertage zu verschieben...
 
Zurück vom Shoppen... habe die Samsung SSD 870 EVO gekauft. Jetzt lese ich dass ich noch einen Boot-fähigen USB-Stick bräuchte.

Bu benötigst einen USB-Stick - und kleinen kleinen - sondern einen auf den mehr wie 20 GB drauf passen.
Bootfähig wird der erst mit dem was man darauf installiert.
