Hallo, ich habe mich im Grunde an diese Anleitung gehalten:
Update the firmware to the latest version.
(Mac OS ist da gemeint)
KUBUNTU klarmachen
Get your Ubuntu Live CD ready.
For older MacBooks
(also nicht Santa Rosa) you must select i386; for Core 2 Duo MacBooks (post 2006) you can select amd64 if you're interested in running a 64-bit OS, otherwise i386 may be selected.
(das heißt bei Santa Rosa kannst Du es Dir aussuchen)
Install rEFIt if you want a boot menu (to select between OS X/Ubuntu) to appear on every boot. You can make Ubuntu boot by default and change the menu timeout by editing the "refit.conf" file (described on the above website).

Bei der Installation auf Anpassen klicken und die Linux-Treiber mit installieren.
(wenn Du beide Systeme nutzen willst musst Du jetzt mit Bootcamp Platz schaffen)
If necessary, use Boot Camp to resize your OSX partition and make space for Ubuntu.
(Dus hast jetzt Dein System auf dem neuesten Stand, Du hast die aktuelle (K)Ubuntu Live-CD, Du hast refit installiert und mit Bootcamp eine Partition eingerichtet. Es kann losgehen...)
Hold down "C" to boot from the CD.
Install Ubuntu as usual, except:
In the partitioner, select Manually edit partition table
Delete /dev/sda3 and /dev/sda4 if they exist
Create a new ext3 partition for your root
Mount the newly created ext3 partition on '/'
Note that Boot Camp will cause problems if you make more than two partitions in total.
Finish the install and reboot.
(bei den einzelnen reboot-Durchläufen macht es natürlich einen Unterschied, ob Du 'C' drückst oder nicht, ist klar)
If you installed rEFIt, you should have a choice between booting OS X and Ubuntu. Use the arrow keys and Enter to select Ubuntu.
Alternatively, if you did not install rEFIt, hold down Alt/Option to choose whether to boot into OSX / Ubuntu. The Boot Camp-installed boot menu will recognize the Ubuntu installation as "Windows," but will boot Ubuntu normally regardless.
Log in to your system.
Follow the instructions below to set up the various hardware components that don't work out-of-the-box on Gutsy.
(Und das können einige sein, z.B. die Lauter/Leiser-Tasten, das WLAN, etc. auf der unten angegebenen Seite stehen aber weitere Anleitungen, um die Komponenten einzurichten)
Zusammenfassung/Problembericht:
die Installation einiger Programme unter Kubuntu gestalltet sich schwieriger als unter Ubuntu. Es gibt auch einfach weniger Leute die sich damit auskennen. Habe aber auch für dieses Problem ein ganz gutes Forum gefunden. Viel Spaß mit Kubuntu. P.S. ich mag die KDE-Oberfläche einfach lieber.
