Kernel Panic beim Hoch-/Runterfahren Lion

Ich glaube, es gibt da schon etliche Threads für mit etlichen Problemen. Inkompatible Hardware oder Software. Mein Macbook habe ich anfang September gekauft. Geliefert wurde es noch mit Snow Leopard & 2 DVD's. Habe mir vorn vornerein noch 8GB Ram und nen SSD von Crucial (M4) dazu bestellt und gleich eingebaut. Installation ging 1a. Das Laptop lief mit Snow Leopard wirklich Top. Dann gab es irgendwann mal so ein Thunderbolt Efi Update, da hatte ich danach oft Kernel Fehler. Also Backup draufgespielt und Efi Update einfach nicht nochmal installiert, keine Probleme.

Vor ca 3 wochen bin ich mal auf den Trichter gekommen mir Lion zu installieren, weil ich iCloud nutzen wollte. Schon beim Anfang der Installation gabs Kernel Panics, nachm 3. mal hochfahren hat die Installation dann geklappt. Während des arbeitens funktioniert auch alles, aber sobald ich das MacBook runterfahre kommt wieder ein Kernel Panic. Beim nächsten Hochfahren kommt er dann schon wieder. Wenn ich dann nen Pram-Reset mache, fährt er wenigstens hoch, aber beim runterfahren wieder die gleiche Scheisse.

Ich halte ein Hardware Problem für ausgeschlossen, weil dann würde das Problem ja unter Snow Leopard auch bestehen, tut es aber defintiv nicht. Ich wüsste auch nicht welches Programm sonst noch mucken könnte. Oder ist Lion einfach noch nicht ausgereift?
Habe letztens das neue MacBook mit 2,4Ghz Sandybridge gesehen, dass wird ohne DVD ausgeliefert und funktioniert mit Lion auch perfekt.

schon mal einen smc reset probiert?
hardware test auch mal laufen lassen, um das ram zu testen?
 
smc reset und hardware test vorhin mal gemacht. hardware 100% ok, was ich auch gedacht habe, da ein hardware defekt ja auch unter snow leopard gemuckt hätte, aber unter snow leopard war noch alles ok. nur jetzt unter lion. der smc reset hat auch nix gebracht. ich bin mir recht sicher, dass apple irgendwo im os geschlampt hat. ich werde bei tagen mal die original festplatte und den original arbeitsspeicher wieder einbauen und mal testen, ob beim aufspielen von lion genau das selbe problem kommt. wenn nicht scheint ja irgendwas nicht mit lion kompatibel zu sein. entweder die crucial ssd oder mein arbeitsspeicher
 
Für all diejenigen, die das gleiche Problem haben. Ich glaube, dass Lion nicht mit 8 GB Ram auskommt. Hab nur einen Ram Riegel drin und es funktioniert. Bisher keine Probleme.. Falls jemand 8 GB drin hat, und es funktioniert, mal eben posten welche Marke. Ich teste dann nochmal mit nem anderen Arbeitsspeicher.

Interessanterweise verlief der Harwaretest ohne Fehler. Und unter Snow Leopard auch keine Probleme.

memtest ist wohl genauer was defekten speicher angeht...
 
Also Lion kann 8 GB RAM ohne Probleme (sowohl mein mini als auch das MBP 13" Early 2011 meiner Tochter haben 8 GB RAM von Samsung und Lion). Ausserdem hattest Du doch sehr wohl auch unter SL sporadisch auftretende Probleme:
Dann gab es irgendwann mal so ein Thunderbolt Efi Update, da hatte ich danach oft Kernel Fehler.
Und das hier ist ein klarer Hinweis darauf, dass Du wohl eher ein Hardware- denn ein Software-Problem hast:
Schon beim Anfang der Installation gabs Kernel Panics, nachm 3. mal hochfahren hat die Installation dann geklappt.
Und hier bestätigst Du das ja auch:
Hab nur einen Ram Riegel drin und es funktioniert.
Entweder ist ein Riegel defekt oder beide Riegel entsprechen nicht genau den Spezifikationen für's MacBook und verursachen im Zusammenspiel die Probleme.

Ich hatte unter Snow Leopard kein einzigen Fehler. Ich bin jahrelanger Windows User gewesen und da wars so, wenn man nen RAM Riegel nicht ok war, wurds sofort nachm Einbau angezeigt, nicht erst wenn man das OS gewechselt hat ;)

Hm, ich hatte vor einiger Zeit ein vergleichbares Problem mit einem uralten Powerbook. Mein Vermutung ging dahin, dass die Probleme nur unter Last auftraten, und da kann man sich im Single-User-Modus den Wolf testen, alles kein Problem, weil die Kiste ja auch eiskalt ist und die Platte einschläft.

Ich hatte mir damals einen Testcase selbst gebaut. Das Script habe ich nicht mehr, ich kann dir aber im groben(!) sagen, was ich gemacht habe, soweit ich mich erinnere.

1. Den Rechner voll ausgelastet. Dazu im Terminal
sudo -i (macht dich permanent zu root)
yes && yes && yes && yes
Sieht doof aus, funktioniert aber, um 4 Kerne des Rechners dauerhaft auf je 100% zu bringen. Wenn Du einen zwei/vier/acht-Kern-Prozessor hast, die Anzahl der „yes“ entsprechend anpassen.

Kontrolle: Neuen Tab im Terminal aufmachen,
sudo top -o cpu
…sollte oben im Header eine volle Auslastung anzeigen. Raus mit CTRL-C.

2. Eine Arbeitsdatei besorgen, mit der wir ordentlich I/O machen. Die Datei sollte größer sein als dein RAM. Falls Du keine hast: Im Terminal:
dd if=/dev/urandom of=/pfad/zu/der/datei bs=1g count=8
…erzeugt eine 8 GB-Datei mit Zufallszahlen. Ich gehöre bestraft für das „leerräumen“ von /dev/urandom, aber man will einen I/O-Test nun mal nicht mit einer Datei voller Nullen durchführen. Ggf halt anders machen, irgendein jpeg immer wieder hintereinander-cat-en oder so. Mir egal. Will sagen: Besorge eine Datei, die größer ist als dein RAM und ein Gemisch aus 1en und 0en ist. ;-)

3. So, jetzt erstellen wir eine Prüfsumme für die Datei:
md5 /pfad/zu/der/datei
Dauert etwas. Prüfsumme notieren.

4. Jetzt erstellt man sich ein Script, das in etwa folgendes tut:
a) kopiere „datei“ zu „datei2“
b) loesche „datei“
c) benenne „datei2“ um in „datei“
d) sync
e) md5 datei
f) GOTO a

Dabei erfolgt das Kopieren NICHT mit „cp“, sondern mit „dd“, wobei wir wieder eine möglichst große Blockgröße verwenden (siehe oben, da habe ich 1 GB angegeben, ich weiss gerade nicht, wie viel erlaubt ist, wenn $RAM-GROESSE geht, dann mach das). Das erzwingt eine hohe RAM-Nutzung.

Dadurch, dass die Datei Grösser ist als dein RAM ist, stellen wir sicher, dass uns kein memcache da rein funkt und kein copy on write,
und da sie nicht nur aus Nullen besteht, kann das Filesystem nix optimieren (sparseblöcke) ,
und das sync erzwingt dann auch noch mal eine Aktualisierung des Caches auf die Platte.

5. Jetzt kommt der schöne Teil: Geh ´ne Pizza essen. Lass das mal 2 Stunden kochen.

Wir fassen zusammen:

a) Der Rechner läuft auf voller Prozessorlast (yes && yes &&…)
b) Die Festplatte läuft permanent (endloses „dd“ mit geringer Chance, das zu optimieren/cachen/…)
c) Das RAM wird annähernd voll genutzt (Man wird wahrscheinlich die swapping-Mechanismen nie 100%ig durchblicken, aber es dürfte dem System schwer fallen, hier irgendwas an Arbeit „wegzusparen“)
d) Der Rechner dürfte ziemlich warm werden.

Wir haben also ein System, bei dem die üblichen Verdächtigen schwer beschäftigt werden: I/O, RAM, CPU, Hitze. Aber alle Programme, die beteiligt sind, sind Unix-Urgestein, die haben keine Bugs und verursachen keine Abstürze.

Bei meinem Powerbook durfte ich dann sehen, wie die Datei nach jedem Durchlauf eine andere md5 hat, sprich: Verändert wurde. Bordschaden, Tschüß, Mülltonne. Wenn dein Rechner OK ist, muss immer wieder die gleiche Prüfsumme erscheinen.

Ich bin mir ziemlich sicher, dass es dein RAM ist.
