iSync, Palm Desktopsoftware & Treo600 unter Tiger...?

Hallo,

nachdem nun das Tiger-Update eingespielt und nach längerem endlich alles eingerichtet ist, hatte ich mir überlegt nun auch meinen Treo600 am Mac zu betreiben.

Gegen Ende der Installation der Software bekomme ich immer die Fehlermeldung, dass die Installation nicht vollständig abgeschlossen werden konnte. Nun kann ich zwischen Reinstall und Quit wählen, wobei Reinstall wieder zum gleichen Fehler führt.

Die Palmdesktop-Software scheint davon nicht betroffen zu sein - lediglich der HotSyncManger und alles was mit Syncen zu tun hat verweigert hartnäckig den Dienst mit folgender Fehlermeldung:


The application "Send To Handheld" could not be launched because of a shared library error: "6<Send To Handheld><Send To Handheld><HotSyncLib.PPC><>"


Ich habe von der PalmOne-HP zuerst die Treo600-spezifische und dann die allgemeine PalmDesktopSoftware runtergeladen. Beide zeigen denselben Fehler. Hat irgendjemand eine Idee...?

Ich hab hierzu noch was gefunden...als relativer Mac-Frischling habe ich leider keine Ahnung wie ich den Root im Netinfo Manager aktiviere...kann jemand helfen?

After a bunch of research I followed some advice from a post at Treo Central and logged into my PowerBook as the Root user. The Root user is the all-powerful uber-user that all Unix based systems have. The Root user has complete rights over every file and object on the system. Even your Adminisatration user doesn't have this.

By default, the Root user is disabled in OS X installations. You need to use the NetInfo Manager to enable the user. Make sure you don't have a user that logs in automatically on your system and restart. When the list of users is displayed on your system choose Other and enter Root as the user name and put in your password.

Once I went through that I was able to carry out the installation.

Then I logged out, disabled the Root account again and started Palm HotSync. After doing one sync, I started iSync and Enabled Palm OS Syncing from the Devices menu.

Next, I used the HotSync setup utility to enable the iSync conduit so that my Palm device could sync with iCal and Address Book.

Nachtrag II

Leider hat auch das keine Abhilfe gebracht: Nachdem ich mich als root angemeldet und Palm Desktop Software installiert habe, kommt wieder die Fehlermeldung von wegen die Installation war nicht vollständig - Quit or Reinstall. Reinstall führt wieder zur selben Meldung....
