iMac2011 und aktuelles macOS möglich?

Hallo,
ein iMac(Mitte 2011) supported ja nur noch bis HighSierra (10.13.6).

Lässt sich durch aufrüsten von Hardware die Installation von Mojave realisieren?
Habe mal gehört das die Grafikkarte Grund dafür wäre das kein aktuelles macOS mehr installiert werden kann.
Wenn es aber am Mainboard liegt hat sich die Sache aber auch erledigt ;-)

Nein. Da gibt es nichts, was du aufrüsten kannst. Ein Mac kann nicht beliebig aufgerüstet werden.

Es liegt halt eben nicht nur an der Grafikkarte.

Man kann auch die Grafikkarte durch eine z.B. GTX680m austauschen. Allerdings kosten die etwa 200 Euro. Da ist der Patch von Dosdude deutlich günstiger.

Jedoch steht ganz klar im dosdude Post drin das die Grafikkarten der 5xxx und 6xxx Serie von ATI, welche in den iMacs von 2011 verbaut sind, NICHT sauber laufen.

AMD Radeon HD 5xxx/6xxx series GPU acceleration: Currently, it is not possible to get full graphics acceleration when running Mojave on a system with a Radeon HD 5xxx or 6xxx series GPU. Mojave will be almost UNUSABLE without graphics acceleration. This includes the 15" and 17" MacBook Pro systems (MacBookPro8,2 and 8,3). If you want to enable GPU acceleration on these machines, you'll need to disable the AMD GPU (This will work on MacBook Pro 8,2 and 8,3 systems ONLY. You CANNOT disable the AMD GPU in an iMac.) Weird colors will also be produced when running Mojave with one of these video cards installed/enabled.

Hallo Freunde,

meines Wissens nach fehlt dem 2011 er auch noch Bluetooth 4.0 und damit gehen die "Airdrop-Sachen" zwischen Mac und iPad bzw. iPhone auch nicht ohne weiteres. Die Funktion Hands-on ist davon abhängig und funktioniert auch erst mit Nachrüstung eines Bluetooth-Dongels und einer anderen W-Lan Karte.
