Moin,

mein iMac war von Anfang an nicht der schnellste. Das Mac Book Air von 2015 startet z.B. viel schneller und auch Programme (z.B. Spark) werden im laufenden Betrieb vom iMac viel langsamer geladen als auf dem Mac Book. Ich hatte gehofft, mit Bir Sur würde sich das auflösen. Leider ein Irrtum. Im Gegenteil, der iMac braucht noch länger.

Ich habe mal ein EtreCheck gemacht. Ich verstehe leider nur Bahnhof. Könnt ihr etwas darin lesen, was mir weiterhelfen könnte?

Der hat noch eine Festplatte drin. Deswegen ist der generell langsamer als das Air (dieses hat eine SSD).
Ausserdem scheint viel alte, nicht mehr lauffähige, Software auf dem Gerät zu sein.
Der Bericht hört übrigens genau da auf wo es eigentlich interessant wird.

Die HDD bremst den iMac und die SSD beschleunigt das MBA.
 
Nein, Du hast ein FusionDrive. Das hat einen winzigen SSD-Anteil und eine große Festplatte.

Das ist ein fusion drive, bestehend aus einer 1TB HDD und einer kleinen SSD. Die HDD bremst das System ziemlich aus und ist für die neuen Betriebssysteme nicht wirklich geeignet.
PS: ich war zu langsam.
 
Im ersten deiner Bilder zeigst du die HDD. Im zweiten Bild das FD mit 28 GB SSD.
Bei normalen arbeiten sollte sich der iMac schnell anfühlen da die Daten die am meisten gebraucht werden auf dem SSD Teil sind aber der ist leider sehr klein.

Wie nutzt du den iMac das man das FD bemerken kann?

War er schon immer langsam oder erst kürzlich? Die HDD könnte auch am Ende sein auch wenn sie noch recht jung ist.

Jetzt weiß ich, dass ich eine Fusion Drive drin habe. Danke.

Ich habe schon einmal gegoogelt, welche externe SSD mir helfen könnte. Bin da jetzt durcheinander was USB 3.0 und Thunderbolt betrifft. Was sollte ich konkret nehmen? Mit Thunderbolt finde ich nur eine sehr teure Platte. Vielleicht bin ich aber auch nicht kompetent genug zu suchen. :whistle:
 
Das ist zwar sehr teuer, aber eindeutig die bessere, weil viel schnellere, Lösung. Wenn möglich würde ich das vorziehen.
Oder Du lässt in einer Werkstatt die HDD gegen eine SSD tauschen. Das wäre der Königsweg und sicher auch nicht teurer als eine TB-Platte

Der komplette Bericht von EtreCheck wäre trotzdem noch interessant. Du kannst ihn ja blockweise kopieren und "stückchenweise" hier rein kopieren.
 
Extern ist TB3 SSD am besten aber grundsätzlich unnötig. USB 3.2 (3.1) Gen 2, sogar Gen 1 ist schnell. Der normale bzw. "mittlere Weg".

Intern kann man die Apple Blade SSD tauschen lassen oder auch die HDD gegen eine SSD. Im ersten Fall viel Arbeit und intern maximal schnell wie NVMe (PCIe). Im zweiten Fall relativ einfach und "normal" schnell eben wie SATA3 SSD.
