Der Telekomkonzern France Télécom hat die französischen Vertriebsrechte für das Apple-Handy iPhone erhalten. Verkaufsstart solle vor Weihnachten sein, voraussichtlich im November, sagte Vorstandschef Didier Lombard am Donnerstag in Paris. Zum Preis machte er keine Angaben.

Lombard said France Telecom won't subsidize the iPhone and didn't say how much it will be sold for. The iPhone will cost 399 euros in Germany and 269 pounds ($538) in the U.K., where O2 has almost 18 million clients. Apple hasn't announced its partners in Italy and Spain. Vodafone Group Plc, the world's largest mobile- phone operator, hasn't been selected as a partner in any country so far.

Oh die Franzosen habe ich ganz vergessen. Offensichtlich bekommen immer die Platzhirsche das iPhone in ihren jeweiligen Ländern.

Dass das iPhone kein Billig-Handy ist weiß inzwischen jeder.
Die Tarife für das iPhone sind auch nicht grad ein Schnäppchen.

Der Preis ist in diesem Fall auch nicht so wichtig. Anhaltspunkte für Preise und Tarife gibt es schon. Und wer das Handy unbedingt will, dem kommt's auf 5 EUR mehr oder weniger sicher nicht an.

Heißt das nun, dass France Telecom keine Prozente von den Mobilfunkverträgen an Apple abtreten will und das iPhone in Frankreich deshalb teurer sein wird als in Deutschland oder Großbritanien?

Nein da steht nicht "wir subventionieren nicht im gegensatz zu allen anderen" sondern da steht "wir subventionieren nicht".
