firewire port seit 10.4.2 nicht mehr funktional

hallo!

habe ein ibook g3 800 mhz dual usb. seit dem update auf 10.4.2 geht meine externe firewire platte mit oxford 922 chipsatz nicht mehr (icecube 800+).
die externe platte wird im system profiler nicht mehr erkannt und mountet nicht.
hat einer ein ähnliches problem? gibt es abhilfe?

hab das selbe problem mit meinem Icecube, aber mit 10.3.9. Bin schon amverzweifeln, was kann man da machen??

Es gibt teilweise ein Problem mit den FireWire Ports bei iBooks und Powerbooks - im schlimmsten Fall sind die kaputt.

Sucht mal hier im Forum nach "firewire + ibook".

Sonst PRAM löschen, Open Firmware zurücksetzen und PMU resetten. Vielleicht geht es dann wieder. Evtl. noch neu installieren um zu probieren, ob die überhaupt noch gehen.

Ich hatte das Problem auch.
Mit folgender Anleitung habe ich das gelöst bekommen, allerdings gilt das für einen G4 Tower, ich weiß nicht ob das für ein iBook tut. Allerdings sind die Stichworte: PRAM und NVRAM Reset

The Firewire ports on my Power Macintosh G4 suddenly stopped working. Why?

Your system most likely needs a logic board reset performed on it. Follow these steps:

1. Unplug your computer.
2. Push the power button on the front of the case 2 or 3 times.
3. Open the case and remove it's PRAM battery.
4. Leave the battery out for at least 10 minutes.
5. On your logic board there is a small reset button, usually a square metal block soldered to the logic board with either a brown or gray button inset into it. Press the button using a ball point pen and hold it for 5 seconds.
6. Replace the PRAM battery
7. Reassemble the system.

And, also resetting the NVRAM is a good idea – follow these steps to perform this task.

Start the computer while holding down the Option-Apple-O-F keys

The Open Firmware screen will appear.

Type in the following:

* reset-nvram
* set-defaults
* reset-all

Your machine will restart automatically.

If this did not fix the problem, your FireWire ports could be physically damaged and would require a logic board replacement.
