Firewire 410 Audio Interface popt/knistert/stuff

Heyho...

Betreibe das Interface am Late 2007er Macbook mit 4 GB Ram über Firewire. (einzige Firewireperipherie)

Problem ist, dass beim Abspielen von Sound leichte plop und knistergeräusche zu hören sind. Immer nur willkürlich. An den Boxen und den übermittelnden Verstärker liegt es 100%ig nicht, da schon dieses Problem schon bei den alten PC Boxen auftrat.

Woran kanns liegen? schlechte Kabelqualität? (habe keine Ersatzkabel da, daher ist das nicht zu testen)

Nach einer Anfrage an M-Audio kam unter anderem das zurück:

A: There are a number of possible reasons for pops & clicks and-/or noise bursts in the audio, but one of the most common reasons on laptops is CPU throttling. Depending on the brand of your laptop, this might be called "SpeedStep" or "SmartCPU" on your system. In simple terms, what this does is to reduce the speed of the CPU to preserve energy whenever the system load allows this. Unfortunately, CPU throttling can have a bad effect on any active audio playback- or recording task which will be audible as noise bursts or pops & clicks.
Most Laptop computers will allow to turn this feature off.

Könnte das das Problem sein und wenn ja, wie kann ich sowas bei OS X regeln? Habe den neuesten Firewire 410 Treiber drauf und neueste Mac-Version.

Also mehr als "Optimierung: Höhere Leistung" kann ich nicht einstellen?

Dann fällt das schonmal heraus, ändert tut sich am Problem nämlich nichts.

Guck mal nach, ob Du einen Texas Instruments oder Agere Firewire-Chipsatz in Deinem Book hast.
Welche Grafikkarte steckt denn drin?

Wenn Du einen Agere hast, würd ich sagen daran liegts,
kann man nix machen ausser Firewire über ne Expresscard mit TI-Chipsatz betreiben.
