Hi,
can anybody tell me whats goin on when i want 2 plug in my external hard-disk device and it doesn´t work at all. (Actually it works on a windows based computer)
Thx

What kind o connection? have you took a look at the system profiler? Ypur HDD should be appear here. Is it in the HD Utility?

maybe it's ntfs formatted. so far as i know mac os x can't handle ntfs.

try to backup and re-format as fat32 on your windows PC.

greets,
LaK

That can´t be the reason. Mac OS X is able to read NTFS partitions.

The problem might be the USB-Connection, if your external drive uses one. It is a well known "problem" that USB-Drives often don't work on Apple notebooks because they don't get enough power. A solution might be an Y-Cable where you use the power of two USB-ports, an external power supply unit or a new Firewire-Case for your drive, as Firewire tends to work properly.

Has anybody written about USB connection?

I don´t think it´s the power-supply problem you mentioned. Actually also the USB-Stick doesn´t work.

It´s a good old USB connection. HD-Udility? - where to find that?
Could there be a problem with the firewall or so?

Furthermore i should mention that this external drive already worked on my aplle once.
