Hallo meine Lieben

Mein G5 2Ghz Dual zickt mit drucken. Dies unter
Panther wie auch seit neustem unter Tiger.

Jeglicher Druckversuch endet mit folgender Fehler-
meldung:

Es ist zum Verzweifeln und ich weiss nicht mehr, was
ich noch machen kann, um das Geschwür zum laufen
zu bringen.

Der Drucker läuft über TCP/IP und funktioniert bei
all meinen Büro-Kumpanen einwandfrei nur bei mir
leider nicht.

Folgendes habe ich versucht (natürlich erfolglos):
  • • Rechte reparieren

    • Sämtliche PPDs neu runtergeladen (in den OS 9- und OS X-Versionen)

    • Drucken von einem zweiten Account

    • Mit "Tiger Cache Cleaner" auf der höchsten Stufe ALLES gelöscht.

    • Mit "Printer Setup Repair" sämtliche Funktionen voll und ganz gelöscht/repariert/wasauchimmer

    • Den Rechner KOMPLET flach gemacht und neu aufgesetzt

Jetzt weiss ich ehrlich gesagt nichts mehr :(
Hätte mich gestern Nacht jemand fluchen gehört,
wäre er wahrscheinlich auf der Intensiv-Station
gelandet. Zum ersten mal in meinem Leben, habe
ich meinen Mac aufs übelste beschumpfen, ein
Wunder, dass er noch läuft :D

Im Netz finde ich leider nichts, oder es ist so
kompliziert, dass ich es nicht peile.

ACHTUNG
Wer mir hier helfen kann, kriegt ne ganze Menge
wirklich gute Schweizer-Schokolade geschickt.

Unter /var/log/cups gibt es wahrscheinlich noch detailliertere Angaben. Poste die mal.

Hi JoyZ,

hast du schon einmal im Browser die Adresse http://127.0.0.1:631/ aufgerufen? Dort siehst du alle installierten Drucker und eine Statusmeldung. Unter Administration oder Installieren findest du eine Menge Optionen. Ich habe dort lange rumprobiert, bis bei mir der Drucker ordentlich lief. Kaputt kann man nicht viel machen. Angefangen habe ich mit Treibern, die fast immer gehen, z.B. HP Laserjet etc..
Wenn du nach Benutzer und Passwort gefragt wirst, probiere 'root' und dein root Passwort.

Schon mal dran gedacht, das System eines Kollegen auf Deinen Rechner zu klonen (z.B. mit dem Festplattendienstprogramm)?

Hallo JoyZ,

wenn es bei einem frisch installiertem System auch nicht funktioniert, würde ich mal das Netzwerkkabel tauschen bzw. den Port an dem du angeschlossen bist. Eventuell auch am Switch.
Ich hatte auch mal ein ähnliches Problem und da war es eine "faule" Leitung vom Büro zum Serverraum. Ein Messegrät fand keine Fehler, aber sobald man über diese Leitung drucken wollte, gab es PostScript-Fehler. Alles andere lief komischerweise.

Nein, das Rip zeigt keinen Error, da das File meine Maschine
gar nicht verlässt.

druckst Du aus Quark mit OPI?
Die Fehlermeldung gibt es bei PPDs die nicht mit Quark kompatibel sind.

Probieren kann man es natürlich. Gehen wird es nicht. Entweder legt man ein neues Paßwort mit lpadmin an (Kommandozeile), oder man ändert in cupsd.conf die Authentifizierung (Achtung: Druckdienste dann beenden und neu starten, z.B. durch reboot).

steht doch alles. Der Filter "fierycupsfilter" meldet einen Fehler. Forsche mal, was das für ein Filter ist. Und es schadet auch nichts, dem Hinweis zu folgen und in der cupsd.conf den LogLevel zu ändern.

Ein Filter ist eigentlich ein Konverter. Die Druckdienste arbeiten so, daß sie die Datei (oder meinetwegen auch das Filet), die Du druckst, nach und nach durch irgendwelche Konverter ("Filter") jagt, bis schließlich Postscript oder PCL oder ESC/P usw. rauskommt. Und einer von den dreizehn Filtern ist wohl schlecht.
 
Dankeschön, ich werde der Sache mal nachgehen,
respektive jemand der bei der Geschichte einiger-
massen den Durchblick hat. Leider hab ich keine
Ahnung von Terminal etc.

Ich melde mich auf jeden Fall mit dem Resultat.
