After updating my iBook G4 (model PowerBook 6,3; ATI Radeon Mobility 9200) from 7.04 to 8.04, my brightness controls and suspend would not work. I messed around with config files for quite awhile until changing my yaboot.conf file to the following finally did the trick:
Code:image=/boot/vmlinux label=Linux read-only initrd=/boot/initrd.img append="nosplash video=radeonfb:1024x768-24@60" image=/boot/vmlinux.old label=old read-only initrd=/boot/initrd.img.old append="nosplash video=radeonfb:1024x768-24@60"
The "radeonfb" seemed to do the trick. My brightness controls now work and my machine sleeps and wakes from sleep perfectly.
Just wanted to pass that info along to anyone having a similar issue.
