Zip archive , how much compression ?

Hi ,
When I zip my mp3 songs in order to send it, it´s just compressed by very very little amount, i.e. 6 MB becomes 5.9 MB .
Is that normal ? that can´t be really called compression , can it ?!

mp3 already is a compressed file format, so the chances are low to save much more space by zipping it again...
