Je nachdem was du haben willst. ;)

Wenn du fragen zur Kernel-Dev hast, dann musst du die Linux-Kernel-Mailing-Liste besuchen und dich anschnauzen lassen, warum dein Treiber nicht OpenSource ist, bzw. du den nicht mit zum Kernel hinzufügst. ;)

Wenn du fragen zu GUI oder anderen Teilen hast, musst du in die entsprechenden Foren des Projekts.

Ein "Gesamtwerk" gibt's nicht, da es einfach zu viele Projekte sind. ;)
 
Ja und solange man sich bei den Distributionen nicht an LSB hällt ich meine jetzt 100%ig dann kommt nie etwas wirklich gutes zu Stande, denn jede kommerzielle Software hat bei mir Probleme verursacht, und die Frage wo sich die C-Header Files befinden kann man einem PC-Neuling einfach nicht stellen! (VMWare, genauer vmware-configure.pl). Und da ist Windows und OS X für Entwickler wie für User gleichermassen eine Erleichterung! Eine einheitliche Oberfläche, Screenshot Anleitungen, überall gleiche Voraussetzungen (Libraries meine ich).
