Nun, ich armer Kerl muss meiner Freundin jeden Tag die Gilmore Girls aufnehmen ;-)

Dies mache ich auf meinem G5 Dual 2,5 mit 2,5 gig RAM, 160+250gig, OS 10.3.6 und einer Miglia TV Karte.
Bis jetzt hat dies auch anstandslos funktioniert, ich speichere die Sendung als PAL-movie, mache nachher in iDVD die Menüs und lasse den mac die DVD rendern.

Komischerweise hängt sich iDVD beim Rendern immer auf. Die Files sind allerdings in Ordnung, Festplattenplatz ist auch genug vorhanden, aber trotzdem kommt irgendwann die Meldung:
"iDVD wurde unerwartet beendet".

erst die frage, ob schon mal eine DVD fertig wurde?

und nun noch die üblichen verdächtigen:
- energiesparen aus
- bildschirmschoner aus
- filevault aus

mit deinem crashlog kann ich leider nichts anfangen. :(

Vielleicht kann dir jemand weiterhelfen, wenn du den Rest des Crash.logs auch postest (also: Thread 0 Crashed: usw.)
 
Nun...

... bis vor kurzem hat es noch anstandslos funktioniert, ich habe auch keine Updates installiert oder so.

iDVD crasht recht früh, noch beim Rendern der Menüs. Eine Neuinstallation oder das Löschen der Prefs hat erstmal nichts gebracht.

Das vollständige Chrash-Log poste ich gleich.

wie ist die einstellung des festplattenruhezustand?

wenn alles schon mal funktioniert hat, was wurde in der zwischenzeit geändert?

-> zum schluss hier noch ein tip

ich hoffe das hilft irgendwie weiter. ansonsten kann toast 6 auch dvd erstellen. ist aber qualitativ nicht so der hit.

Ne, funktioniert auch nicht mit Hurz & Pfurz. Energiesparen der Festplatten ist abgedreht.
 
Ich will mich nicht zu früh feuen, aber nachdem ich meine zwei Infineon-RAM-Riegel entfernt habe (nur mehr Original-RAM) rendert er ohne Fehlermeldung vor sich hin. Normalerweise wäre iDVD schon längst abgekackt...

Kann das so sehr stören?

Ich hatte auch schon etliche Ruckler auf der gebrannten DVD, welche aber vorher in iMovie/iDVD nicht bemerkbar waren. Kann das auch daher kommen?

die tips hab ich hier gelesen und ich hab es nie anders gemacht. bisher lief es bei mir immer problemlos. filevault hab ich noch dazu genommen, da dies bei video öfter ärger macht.

für notebooks gilt zusätzlich: das netzteil anschliessen bevor die ganze sache losgeht.

So, ohne die zusätzlichen Ram-Riegeln hat es funktioniert.
Jetzt habe ich mein RAM-Paar mit dem Apple-Paar vertauscht und brenne ein weiteres Projekt... bis jetzt klappt es.
 
Sch....e, ist etwa mein OrginalRAM am A...h? Ich habe das gleiche Problem allerdings beendet auch Toast beim codieren seinen Dienst. Immer gibts irgendwo einen Bug, gute Nacht all ihr Betatester welche noch Geld dafür ausgeben.

Du vom Glück Begünstigter!! Ich habe mir heute einen 1GB RAM Schockoriegel einbauen lassen- mal sehen was läuft.
