ibook g4 debian kernel problem

hallo. vielleicht kann mir ja jemand von euch helfen.
ich hab seit ein paar tagen ein ibook g4 933mhz un bin total damit zufrieden war echt ne super entscheidung eins zu kaufen, da ich aber ein großer linux fan bin würde ich gerne noch eine partition mit debian auf dem ibook haben. soweit so gut, hab ich auch alles schön instaliert. allerdings hab ich nun nen 2.6.3er kernel draufgemacht un der bootet mir nicht. ich schreib mal, was ich in einem anderem forum geschrieben hab, wo mir leider niemand helfen konnte, vielleicht kann es ja hier jemand, denn das ist eine super community. dickes lob! clap

ich hab schon gesucht, aber nichts direkt gefunden, vielleicht kann mir jemand von euch helfen.

ist vielleicht auch eher ne kernelfrage.

ich hab folgendes problem:
ich habe ein ibook g4 und habe mir einen neuen kernel konfiguriert. dabei habe ich " Probe internal ATA/100 (Kauai) first" mit den kernel gepackt, ist übrignes ein 2.6.3. kompilieren ging auch. aber wenn ich nun neustarte findet er die rootpartition nicht. vorher wurde sie als /dev/hdc6 gefunden. aber nun kommt folgende meldung:

Please append a correct "root=" boot option
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(0,0)

ok, dann müsste ich ja unter yaboot mit einem Linux root=/dev/hda6 auf die partition kommen oder? nur das ich halt evtl noch ein mount -n -o remount,re / machen muss, allerdings kommt auch da folgende meldung:

wenn ich nun alle hdc in hda wechsele funktioniert es auch nicht, da kommt die gleiche fehlermeldung vor allem wenn ich ein ybin -v mache, muss ich boot=/dev/hdc2 beibehalten weil er sonst meckert hda2 wäre kein yaboot drauf.

Ich hatte das Problem auch,
partition=4

unter dem zu bootenden kernel hat das Problem gelöst.
Die Partitionsnummer musst du deinem Sytem entsprechend
abändern

Hallo zusammen....

Da ich das gleiche Problem habe interessiert mich natürlich, ob und wie ihr es lösen konntet.

Ich konnte das System zwar installieren, jedoch beim booten bekomme ich die gleiche Fehlermeldung...

Bitte um hilfe

hmm, ich hab es zum laufen bekommen, aber dann wieder gelöscht zwecks testen von gentoo. ich werde sobald ich kurz zeit hab, dir nochmal drauf antworten, weil ich gerade nicht weiss, woran es lag, sorry. :-(
