Firmware Update für OWC-SSDs

Keine Frage, nur eine kleine Infos für Betroffene.

Seit heute gibt es ein neues Firmware Update für 3G- und 6G-SSD-Modelle, das Stabilität und Leistung steigern soll. Klick!

Man braucht dazu keinen Windows-Rechner, d.h. man muss auch die Platten nicht ausbauen. Ein komplettes Installations-Image (m. Ubuntu) kann man sich für OS X auf der HP runterladen. Dieses brennt man sich auf eine DVD. Von dieser wird gestartet und kommt dann in ein GUI (Ubuntu Desktop), wo man bequem das Update durchführen kann.

Meine RAID-0 ist scheinbar durch das Update um ca. 5% schneller geworden. Noch ein Update und ich knack die 1000. :hehehe:
 
Es gibt seit ein paar Wochen ein neues Firmware-Update fuer 6G-OWC-SSDs. http://eshop.macsales.com/tech_center/OWC/SSD/6G/Mac

Unter 'supported models' heisst es beim jeweiligen Model '20XX-current'. Die Model Identifiers sind aber beim iMac und Mac Mini nicht aktuell.
Das Image habe ich mir trotzdem gebrannt, weil ich es fuer meinen Mini 5,3 brauche.
Bevor ich mir jetzt was kaputt mache, hat jemand schon mal probiert, das Update auf einem aktuellen Rechner (iMac, Mini) auszufuehren?

Ich habe jetzt schon eine Antwort vom OWC-Support erhalten:

...Thank you for contacting OWC. We are sorry for the confusion on this. The firmware updater does not currently work on the MacMini6,x machines. We are working on expanding the compatibility to that lineup. We do not have a timeline on when this compatibility will be available.
