Probleme mit Cisco VPN-Client

Hi @all.

Ich weiß, dass es schon entliche Freds zum Thema VPN gibt, doch so richtig habe ich nix gefunden.
Also ich nutze den Cisco VPN-client Version 4.03e um mich ins Uni-netz einzuwählen.
Unter 10.2.8 konnte ich mich mit dem damaligen (glaube 4.03d) Client noch ins Uni-netz einwählen, doch unter Panther klappt das mit dem alten oder dem neuen Client nicht mehr. Ich bekomme die Fehlermeldung "Secure VPN Connection terminated locally by the Client. Reason 412: The remote peer is no longer responding.". Ich habe auch schon mit nem Typen vom Uni-RZ gesprochen, der meinte, an der Uni liegt es nicht, von der Seite aus würde die Verbindung gehen. Meine login-daten hab ich auch mehrfach überprüft. Aber ich kann mit nicht vorstellen, warum das jetzt an Panther liegen sollte.

Vielleicht kann mir jemand helfen. Danke schonmal.

ich hatte auch ähnliche Probleme.
und zwar habe ich den client per terminal-befehl deinstalliert, und nach einem Neustart wieder installiert, dann lief es.

hier die Anleitung:

Uninstalling the client through the terminal


- Go to Applications -> Utilities and double-click on Terminal.
- In the opened terminal window type:
"su" and hit enter. It will bring up a second line with
password writen. Type in the root password and hit enter.
- Type "cd .." and hit enter. To this a second time to be in the root folder.
- Type "cd /usr/local/bin" and hit enter. It will bring you up to the root of the user profiles.
- Type "ls" and hit enter. Check to see if vpn_uninstall is in the list results.
- Type "./vpn_uninstall" and hit enter. This will bring up a prompt to confirm deletion.
- Type "yes" and hit enter. A second prompt will come up to confirm deletion of the Client profiles.
- Type "yes" and hit enter.
- Once the process has completed you will get the following: "Cisco Systems VPN client uninstall completed successfully."
- Type "exit" and hit enter.
This will log you out of the root user access.
- Quit Terminal.

hast du Panther als Update auf deinen Rechner draufgespielt? Dann solltest du vielleicht mal neu installieren, also falls die Anleitung nicht funktioniert. nach der Installation übrigens noch mal neu starten. Was Cisco sich dabei gedacht hat ...

für diese anleitung musst du dir vorher noch einen Root account anlegen:

- Go to Applications -> Utilities and double-click on NetInfo Manager.
- In NetInfo Manager go to the Security menu, click on Authenticate... and,
when prompted, put in the Administrator's user name and password. Click on Ok once its in.
- Go back to the Security menu and click on Enable root user. It will bring up an alert window stating that the root password is blank. Click on Ok.
- Set the root password and also the confirm ppassword and then click on Ok. Click Ok once again at the alert window that comes up to say that you will have to re-authenticate to do further changes.
- Exit NetInfo Manager

Hi. Danke erstemal für den Tipp.
Hatte Panther erst drüberinstalliert, also als Update. Nachdem ich aber massenhaft Probleme hatte, hab ich alles nochmal von "Klein auf" gemacht, also komplette Neuinstallation.

Habe die Anleitung so befolgt, wie es da stand.
Aber es kommt immer noch die selbe Fehlermeldung. Hmm.
Hast du, oder jemand anderes noch ne Idee? Bringt es was, wenn man Cisco anschreibt?

wenn du nicht selbst Kunde bei Cisco bist, bzw. Admin eines Firmennetzwerks bist oder so, wirst du vermutlich keinen Support von denen bekommen.
Das es unter OSX massig Probleme gibt mit dem VPN Client, ist nichts neues und Cisco hat sich ein halbes Jahr Zeit gelassen, bis sie eine Version hatten, die unter 10.3 ansatzweise lief, die 4.03E . Ich denke es liegt weder an dem UNI HRZ, noch an dir oder deinem iBook, Schuld ist Cisco.

Versuche mal die Netzwerkeinstellungen zu ändern:

wenn bei dir noch ein DNS-Server drinsteht, klappts vermutlich nicht mit dem Verbindungsaufbau (war bei mir so).

Moin,

ich benutze für WLAN an der Uni die Version 4.0.1.A unter OS X 10.3 und es funktioniert alles bestens. So schlimm kann Cisco nun doch nicht sein.
